Essie fifth avenue

I think I have posted about this one before- but I forgot about it and recently discovered it again. I love this red. It could not be more perfect! It is my favorite orange/red. I have a feeling this will be my go-to all summer.

The Husband surprised me with this vintage mug from Etsy.

Dior Gris Trianon

This was my first time trying a Dior nail polish, and I am very impressed! Gris Trianon is from the new Spring 2013 collection. Not only is this particular color gorgeous, but the application and formula was flawless. I don't think any other brand even comes close in comparison. This was two effortless coats.

I think what made the most difference for me was the size of the brush. It is flat and HUGE! I was almost able to cover my entire nail in one swipe. With Essie or Chanel, it normally would take about 3 or 4 - making more room for error.

Like Chanel, these are definitely not cheap. But in my opinion, they are far better in quality. And even a few bucks cheaper I believe. Chanel does have a better selection when it comes to color, but Dior wins for everything else. I will definitely be purchasing more of these. I currently have my eye on Tutu {also from the new Spring collection - similar to Essie Fiji or French Affair}.
I should mention that this looks super similar to Essie Chinchilly, but this is slightly lighter. Chinchilly also has some blue/purple undertones.

Friday!

For some reason I have only been posting on Fridays this month. Hah! Not sure why, but I guess it's better than nothing. The Husband took a personal day for Monday, so I am pretty happy for a 3 day weekend with him. We also have our nephew's birthday party on Saturday - definitely looking forward to that as well!

Here are a couple of things I have been excited about this week-

I mean really. How pretty is this?!

I have been shopping on Amazon and Etsy quite a bit lately, and I recently purchased this Laduree pastry book. It just came in the mail this morning, and I am just in love with it. The cover is some sort of velvet/suede material, and has gold trim. Such a pretty little book. I can't wait to make macarons and other goodies from these recipes!

I've also decided that after seeing how stunning this book was that I needed the mate to it. The Savory book {this one being the Sucre, of course}. I'll have to order that one soon!
I just love pretty little books..

I also found these on Etsy from a Scottish lady in France. They are vintage copper kitchen canisters with sucre, cafe, and the on them. So pretty! They match our copper pots & pans great.

Bon weekend!
