Birchbox: December 2012

I just received my BB in the mail today! So far, I am really liking it. The only bummer about this box was the juicy couture perfume sample. Not that I don't like it, but they send me a juicy sample probably every other month. I am pretty excited about the kerastase samples! Love anything from that brand. I also really like the lipgloss, too... Even though I received a similar color from the same brand in my glossybox.

Pretty good box overall!

October Glossybox and Birchbox

Even though they neglected to send me the enzyme facial scrub {or whatever it was},
I really liked a couple products from this box.
I have heard of Carol's Daughter - but never tried anything from the brand. This lotion is pretty fabulous. I LOVE the scent- warm and sweet is the best way I can describe it. I also like that it doesn't have any nasty parabens, and the fact that it is not tested on animals. Bonus points in my book!
The ModelCo lipstick/lipgloss duo was another great item. The lipstick is like a brownish nude color and has a nice texture. The lipgloss is a really pretty peachy pink that reminds me of Nars Turkish Delight. I like these layered together.

I am not going to sugar coat it - but this box was the absolute worst. I am not going to complain though, it is only 10 bucks. I suppose my only issue is that I feel like most of these items are things that you can get for free at makeup counters or sephora/ulta.
I did however really like the tea and the luna bars. I will actually purchase these items when
 I go grocery shopping. The DDF cleanser was okay - it has a gross chemically smell and I haven't noticed any change in my skin.

Hunter Boots

I have been wanting a pair of Hunter wellingtons for a while now. But I felt like I shouldn't buy them until the weather changed and I would wear them. So now that it's fall (yay!), I am having such a hard time deciding what color! I love the green, red, gray, and black. Normally I would buy which ever was the most versatile- but all of these would work with just about anything in my wardrobe. I hate how indecisive I am sometimes! Haha. It can really be frustrating! So of course I took to pinterest to see how people wear them. This did not help my situation..

Hmmmm.. What to do now? Decisions, decisions..

Favorite Fall Looks

I am loving the rich colors this season! Especially mustard, burgundy, and teal. These look great paired with a neutral, of course. But I really like them with gray or black. Definitely plan on purchasing some denim in a few of these shades!

The deep plum lip is absolutely stunning. I bought a lipstick similar to this a little bit ago, but I am not sure if I am gutsy enough to pull that off.. 

I have been lusting after that Rebecca Minkoff Mini Mac in Eggplant. Have to have it!

Essie Stylenomics and September Glossybox

I wasn't planning on buying anything from the Essie fall 2012 collection.. but every time I went into the drugstore, I would always pick up this color, and then put it back. So I decided last week it was coming home with me. I am glad I bought it, I really like it. I would say it's a blackish green, but a bit more green than black. And very glossy!

I added some gold glitter to the tips the other day- loved this!

This is way late {as always} but here is my September Glossybox. It was definitely a good one! I had just run out of my Boscia BB cream that I loved, so I was really excited to see this Missha BB cream in my box. Apparently Korean BB creams are the real deal, and all of the western brands are just glorified tinted moisturizers. This stuff is definitely superior to anything I have tried.
I also really liked the shampoo and conditioner. It made my hair way silky and smooth.
The lipstick is pretty but I don't know if I will wear it. It's like a lighter pink. And I have yet to try the mattifying gel, but I hear great things about it, so we will see! :-)

Birchbox: September 2012

This was such a great box!
I have been wanting to try the Dr. Jart BB cream and I was super excited to see it in this month's box. I really liked it, but it seemed really light for my skin tone- or maybe I just used way too much? Still unsure about that. Another thing that I didn't love about it was the sunscreen smell. But overall a great product- it provided great coverage and evened out my skin.
I was also pretty excited about the Bvlgari sample. Smelled great- but very strong.
Maybe this weekend I will try the Color Club polish- love the color!

Ysl #14 exceptional brown

This is the first time I have used a ysl nail polish.  I was very impressed with the formula and overall quality. This stuff glides on like butter! I really, really loved it. The color is a gorgeous chocolate-y brown and so perfect for fall. I will definitely be buying more from the brand. 

August Glossybox

This is a little late- oops! But I really wanted to do a review because it was such a great box.
Here is what was in my box:
1. Biolage exquisite oil replenishing treatment. This is a great product, but I got this for free at Ulta a couple of weeks ago. My only complaint about these kind of boxes is that they often include items like this {and perfume samples) that you can get for free at any makeup counter.
2. Ellis Faas milky lips. This was a pleasant surprise! A full sized product - worth 35 bucks! I really love the texture and feel of this. It is sooo creamy. The only thing about it-- I got the most horrible shade of brown. It's like a beige toffee. But I liked the feel of it so much that I might order it in another shade.
3. Illamasqua nail varnish. Another pleasant surprise! Full sized product worth 14 bucks! I see this brand everywhere but I have never purchased anything from them. I am really excited to try this! It's also a great color for fall. YAY.
4. Ole Henriksen truth serum. LOVED this. Smells great and made my skin feel really smooth and evened out.
5. Touch in Sol feel like honey moon skin base. I have been using this in place of moisturizer and primer. So far, so good!

Overall, I really enjoyed what was in this box. I am always happy to try new brands!

Vacation pics: part 2

These are the rest of the pictures from my trip. I honestly feel a little sad looking at them! I am really missing up north. It was such a great time, but I always feel like we weren't there long enough.

 My brother is a flight instructor so he flew his plane up to the Harbor Springs Airport so we could go up and see the bay. It was my first time flying in a small plane- fun and a little scary! But so beautiful to see the lake and the surrounding areas.

Summer Vacation Pics: Part 1

My favorite place on Earth- Petoskey, Michigan.

We come here every summer -- sometimes twice even because we love it so much. It truly is the most beautiful place in northern Michigan. It's located on Little Traverse Bay, about 30 minutes from the Mackinac Bridge. Aside from the unique restaurants and great shopping, it has the most gorgeous views of the bay & Lake Michigan.
