July 2012 birchbox!

I loved this box. This might be one of my favorite boxes to date. Lots of surprises and fun things to try.

What I loved:
-Annick Goutal Eau d'Hadrien. I LOVE this! I'm actually thinking about purchasing it. Really fresh and citrus-y.
-Boscia BB cream. I've never tried a bb cream but apparently they are amazing. This stuff is just that! My only complaint about it is that you really have to rub it in good. Where you apply it leaves little clumps of cream, kind of weird. It's also a little gray looking at first, but it adjusts to your skin color.
-Color Club Blue Ming. Super pretty turquoise! Can't wait to use this. Great summer color.
-Stila lip glaze. I was hoping to get this- its full size! Really shimmery and pretty.
-Tea Forte minteas. These are so yummy and have a lemon flavor. I'm surprised how much I liked these. :)

Opi green-wich village

I was a little unsure of this color at first.. I actually don't even know what was going through my mind when I bought it- but I really like it! It's like Kermit the Frog green. Very cute. :)

Chanel frenzy

I recently got my hands on one of Chanel's nail polishes from their fall 2012 collection, frenzy. I knew I had to have this color from the moment I saw it online. Its like a soft gray lavender, and very unique. I just love it. Formula was also pretty great. I used two coats. Can't wait to get vertigo and suspicious, too. :)

Weekend

Did some shopping, went to the park.. Had a great lazy weekend!

Essie bikini so teeny

This color is slightly more blue than it looks in the picture. Bikini so teeny is gorgeous and unique. I have never seen anything like it. I don't love it for my fingernails, but it looks great on my toes. I used 3 coats as it was a little patchy.

My {old} new bike!

I have always wanted a vintage bike {and when I say vintage, I mean VINTAGE vintage. Not from the 70s, 80s, or 90s. I'm talking 60s and older}. I never put much thought into actually buying one until Daren started to restore a bike he had as a kid. That really inspired me. So I mentioned it to him, and of course like the supportive hubby that he is, he was completely on board {and totally willing to do the entire restoration himself. Yup, he is that great}. We did a quick internet search to see what style I liked, and about what year. We found many Schwinn bikes on ebay and various websites from the early 50s to the 70s. I really wanted something from the 50s, so we narrowed our search and found a 1958 Tornado about an hour and a half drive from us for 100 bucks (!!). I cannot even begin to explain how excited I was when we went to pick it up.

 The bike looks like it is in better condition than it actually is. But for being 54 years old, it's not too bad! A few things will need to be replaced, like the wheels and obviously tires. They are super heavy! The fenders are a bit dented up so we will probably get a new set, and the chain guard might have to be replaced, too. But I am hoping there is some way we can salvage these parts, I want to keep this bike as original as possible. We will also be getting it professionally painted, and re-chrome many of the parts.

I am having such a hard time deciding between the blue and the mint! Kind of leaning more towards the blue though. I love the mint, but it is so trendy right now and I see it on a lot of bikes. I would like something a little more unique. I am also thinking white fenders with white walled tires and a basket. :) I love the brown saddle and matching brown leather grips, too. I will definitely be adding those to my bike. Here are the ones I want to get, both from Adeline Adeline {the most adorable NYC boutique}.

June 2012 Birchbox

Yeah, this is way late! But I still wanted to share. :) June's Birchbox was a really good one. However, when I first opened it {and for the first time in a while it was a surprise as to what was in my box!} I was less than thrilled. But as I tried the products I found myself really enjoying them. I am also pretty glad I didn't get that zip lock bag thing. What the heck were they thinking with that?! Anyway- here is what was in my box. What I loved- Jouer tinted moisturizer {oil free} with spf 20. There hasn't been a Jouer product that I have not loved, actually. I never heard of the brand until I started getting Birchboxes. Everything has been amazing! But this moisturizer is just fantastic. It has really great coverage and feels light at the same time. I appreciate that it is oil free as I have an oily t-zone, but still ended up with a shiny forehead a couple hours later. I guess I should give in to a finishing powder! Stainiac cheek and lip stain . This is super similar to benetint, but this has more of a gel-like consistency. ModCloth Headband. I was a little unsure about this when I initially saw it. But I tried it on and it is so adorable and so '50s! It has a flexible wire inside so you wrap it around your head and twist to secure it. Love this. I have not tried the self- tanning towels, I am not a fan of those kinds of products. The mineral sunblock was okay except that it turned my face ghost white! All in all, a great box in my opinion.
